Coronavirus: Special Announcement about Central’s worship services and annual congregational meeting, PLEASE READ!
All are invited to join us on Facebook Sunday morning at approximately 10:30 for a live steam of a communion meditation and the message!
These unprecedented and unusual times are requiring us to provide you with unusual worship and learning opportunities. As I shared with everyone this past Sunday morning the elders have been and continue to monitor the news and government mandates connected to the current coronavirus pandemic. Now that Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has issued a “shelter in place” mandate for residents of our state which takes effect beginning Saturday March 21st at 5 p.m. and extends through April 7th we are aware that we will not be able to hold services as usual in our building at least for the next three Sundays. In response to that mandate and our inability to hold services as usual, our church will be providing some not so typical opportunities for worship and learning. Exactly what those opportunities will be is still being determined but you can expect that audio teachings and Facebook postings will be made available online. Also we are planning on making materials available for parents to use with their children. Please bear with us as we work on and develop these resources for this is taking your leadership into uncharted territory!
Additionally, we want you to know that plans are for the church’s daycare to remain open as it provides necessary childcare for workers who jobs are understood to be essential in getting us through the current pandemic.
I’ve had a few ask me about how they might be able to give to the church while we’re not conducting Sunday morning services. Probably the easiest way to give during this time would be electronically through the church’s push pay account. You can find a link to that account on both the church’s Facebook page and the church’s website. As always you can give an offering by means of a check; however you’ll need to mail that in to the church.
This Sunday’s Congregational Meeting obviously is not going to take place. Additional information on this is forthcoming.
The news we’re hearing on the TV and radio is concerning to be sure. But the good news is God’s still on His throne and He is still with us! So hang in there church and consider these words from Philippians 4, “4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Loving God and you, Darren
P.S. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any help!
P.S. I know Bonnie has already sent out an email with information that has links to some excellent resources for spiritual growth and learning. Everyone you will find that the Right Now Media website link will open up to you a great number of resources. For the most part I like what I’ve found there but please be aware that some of them teach some different things than what we teach at Central. Parents you can take advantage of the children’s resources link.
We will post any updates on Facebook, our website .
